Minimal Effort

My style may be all over the place (pictures coming soon, i promise) but theres one thing that stays constant; the feel of minimalism. Over time, some of my friends had pointed out that even though I never stick to one theme while dressing up, it always has a minimalist feel and I have to agree with them 100%. Most of my favorite bloggers, clothing lines, stores, actresses, looks, all have minimalist something to them (if that even makes sense). I've finally come to terms with it and labeled my style simply as vintage minimalist. Of course this post wouldn't be complete unless I added some pictures of my favorite looks:

Now that I'm completely aware of exactly what style I favor, I'll be turning this blog in that direction. I'm getting it all together, little by little.... 

Mental Dump

Sometimes when my imagination is wearing a little thin and I feel like I'm in a ridiculous, depressing rut, I like to go into my inspiration folder and get the old imagination train going (wow, even that was whack...) Fall is my favorite season but sometimes it can really get to me. Late sunrises, severely cold winds, dry air, grey skies.... It's an all around mind fuck, especially since summer was just a few weeks ago. So I'd like to crack open my brain just a bit, and spill out some of my favorite images that (most of the time) get me out of this particular rut

I'm half way sure that all these images can describe me as a whole. All the random thoughts and sideways feelings that are jumbled in my head that I want to express outward but sometimes get stumped by it all. Even that explanation is just off. I'm just having a pretty off couple of days. Hopefully I can add on to my Inspiration folder and get shit flowing again.

Stuck In The Past

I'm slightly stuck in the past. Theres just something about retro/vintage clothing that give me this tingle while whispering sweetly in my ear, "put me on, baby". I've been a vintage enthusiast for a couple of years now but jut recently started incorporating pieces into my daily wardrobe. The picture above was taken awhile ago to see if my back seams were looking the way they should (dangerously straight). Loving the way this outfit turned out, I went vintage shopping crazy, loved every moment and piece of inexpensive clothing bought, and am now stuck in the 50s-90s. Although I love my pin up babes and bloggers in full rockabilly outfits, I still add modern pieces just to tone down the age of the outfit.

I don't have a definite look but I tend to lean towards dark pieces with a classy feminine twist. For example, if I wore my vintage navy blue pencil skirt, I'd pair it with a cropped black sweater, sheer black tights, my members only jacket and my thrifted kitten heels (most likely wear my dr. martens 1461s because of the weather) I'm also just getting into the makeup of the time as well. The hair will have to come waaay later since I'm still in my natural faze.

This next girl is Karla Deras of Karlas Closet. Another beauty I could on for hours about. She's another inspiration of mine to just take vintage pieces and mix them up to make a statement all your own. She does this effortlessly and understands what pieces fit her body perfectly. 

 

Jazzi of JazziMCG feeds my need for things with a little punk/edge to it while staying feminine, vintage and magical about it. I love her blogging style and her DYIs are nice and simple. She's taken a bit of a hiatus on blogging but I'm patiently waiting her return and will forever remain a fan.

I hope to evolve and grow my style while sharing it with whoever stumbles upon this blog. Here's to growing up a little at a time, but hopefully not too much

No Shame

This is exactly what happens when I figure out how to use iMovie.

 I've been in this extremely awkward in between relationship that has me forty types of fucked up and I'M PRETTY MUCH OVER IT. This was just video evidence of the last time this person will ever receive a phone call from me. Don't let the cheery attitude throw you off, I only posted the happy moment and cut out the yelling and tearful dramatasies for not only my pride but for the sad truth that I'm just not cute while in the throws of a passionate verbal smack down. That cleansing convo was just what i needed to finally decide that I want to start whats the word, chronicling? Weird, crazy, awkward, terrible shit just happens and it just seems like a travesty to not share it with complete strangers and maybe stalkers. So thus begins my journey into blogging, vlogging, ranting, raving, screaming, rolling (completely lost my train of thought) and everything else thats not okay with my slowly progressing life.
